Estimate your food property.
Quick. Customized. Research-based.
Choose your food and the needed property. Choose the range of process parameters such as temperature or composition (e.g., moisture). Choose from built-in estimation equations from the literature that are reasonable for the food. Add discrete data, when available. Use the provided composition from the USDA composition database or change it to yours. Plot. Combine plots to visualize properties of four different materials or four different properties of the same material.
1. Choose Food, Property, Formula Click inside the rectangle to choose your Food from the list of 50,000+ foods. Click inside the rectangle to choose the Property you need, such as thermal conductivity or a dielectric property. Click the Condition (e.g., temperature) and its range for the food and the property you chose. Choose the estimation Formula from the published literature for the food, the property, and the process parameter range.
2. Composition Click on Food Composition to apply the built-in composition values. Change any of the composition values, if needed.
3. Plot Property Click Plot to plot the chosen property as a function of the selected process parameter. Click Add New to generate up to four plots. Combine plots under "Show Saved Plots".
